Welcome to Bar Harbor Kids!!

​We have just started in 2022 but we come with years of experience.

Bar Harbor Kids is an offshoot of the successful kids tour company in New Orleans (yes, kids tours in New Orleans!!) I started French Quartour Kids exactly 10 years ago after teaching elementary school for many years. I was frustrated with where I saw education going, focusing on high stakes testing and one size fits all curricula. Kids tours are the opposite! They're energetic, engaging ways to connect the dots for kids the way I wish they had been for me! With the imagination and curiousity of kids guiding our programming, we aim to keep the tours active, hands on, and interactive. All tours are educational but NOT boring!! We highlight the unusual, icky, bizarre parts of our past and our surroundings to tap into kids' innate curiousity. ​

​The professional info: I taught for 10 years in Massachusetts, the Bronx, Denver, and New Orleans. I'm licensed to teach kindergarten through 8th grade in Colorado, New York, and Louisiana. In addition, I completed my Masters Degree in Elementary Education in 2005. Weird fact: my great--great-great-grandfather Enoch Lincoln was governor of Maine when it was still part of Massachusetts! I've lived in Somesville off and on since I was a baby! (To avoid New England winters though, I moved to New Orleans to attend Tulane University in the.... 1990s- gulp!)

​I've recently partnered with a local Maine educator. She and I taught together in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. More details about my partner soon!!
